Stop typing the same password every time

Banks, payroll systems and government portals often send statements as password-protected PDFs. That's sensible for email, but tiresome once the file is safely stored on your own device. Unlock PDF decrypts the file with the password you enter and saves a copy with no password at all. It also removes restrictions on printing, copying and editing from PDFs that have them, so you can fill, sign or merge them.

Unlock PDF only works with the correct password. It cannot guess or bypass passwords, and it is meant only for documents you own or have permission to open.

How to unlock a PDF

  1. 1

    Open the protected PDF

Choose the file. You will be asked for its password.

  2. 2

    Enter the password

Type it once. If the PDF only has restrictions and no open password, no password is needed.

  3. 3

    Download

Save the unlocked copy, which opens without a password.
